Dad called me up one day and said "Nahid, what are you doing on Thursday?" Nahid: "Not much, why?" Dad: "Im coming to visit" Nahid: "Really?? that's great news. I miss you, have you booked?" Dad: "Im booking tonight." Nahid: "Amazing! I love you babba." Dad: "I love you too babba." After this conversation, I remember calling up my mom, and asking her if everything was ok, she said "yeah, why are you asking?" and to that I said, "well dad is coming here on Thursday... Am I in trouble?" Turns out I wasnt in trouble, he came for ten days, and cooked for me almost every single night, from Burghol and Banadoura, to incredible gastronomic creations with varying ingredients that I would never have thought to put together. Everything he whipped up in the kitchen was delicious. Dad definitely knew food. We took little roadtrips together, we literally spent every day of those ten days together, just me and dad, and it was amazing. I connected with him on so many levels in those ten days,and got to know him better, not just as a father, but as Walid, the person he is. I look back now and I feel so fortunate.
